知人からの勧めでThinkPadを2台買いましたが故障が少ないものだったと知りました。
残念ながらEdgeなんですよね。

すべてのLenovo製品が頑丈なわけではありません。
昔から頑丈（信頼性）で定評のあるのは元IBMのブランドであったThinkPadだけです。
Lenovoは、IBMからthinkPadブランドを買い取る前は中国国内以外では
殆ど無名メーカーだったのですが、ThinkPadブランドを買い取ることによって
世界１，２位`を争うメーカーまで成長しました。
ただ、Lenovo内でもThinkpadブランドのみは設計開発は
未だに日本の元IBM大和研究所で行われています。
他のLenovo製品は中国国内での設計開発ですね。
ですから、同じLenovoでもThinkPadと他のブランドは全く別物と考えてもいいくらいです。
ThinkPad以外のLenovoブランドはある意味値段勝負的な作り方をしていますが、
ThinkPad(ThinkPad ※Edagを除く）は結構高価な部類のラップトップPCになります。
すでに過去のモデルとなってしまいましたが、Thinkpad W701dsなどは
オプションの組み合わせによっては１００万円オーバーの仕様があったようなモデルです。
私が今この回答を書いているThinkPad T61pも５年前のモデルですが、
当時の価格で約４４万円しました。
ですが、当時のハイスペックモデルですので、OSの更新（VISTA→７ Ultimate)、
HDDからSSD※屁の変更等小改造で未だハイスペックモデルの現役として仕えてます。
また、※ANo,3の方がLet’sNoteは1.5mの高さから落下テストを行っていると述べておりますが、
そんなことはThinkPadはもう１０年以上も前から当たり前のように行ってます。
過去にIBMのサイトにあったのですが、盗難にあって、１年以上も外で放置されていた
ThinlkPadが発見されて、まず無理だろうと思って電源を入れたところ、
何の不具合もなく起動したとか、家が火事になって、火に炙られ、放水した大量の水をかぶり、
焼け跡の家の２階からゴミとして地面へ放り投げられたThinkPadが、
やはり何の不具合もなく起動したなどと言ったエピソードを見ることができました。
Let’sNoteがFBIで採用されたと述べられてますが、厳密に言えばあれはLet’sNoteではありません。
Let’sNoteとは別系統のTough bookと言うモデルで、このモデルは
アウトドアで使うことを前提としためちゃくちゃ頑丈な筐体を持ったモデルです。
その代り、重量が重い、価格が高い、価格の割にスペックが低いと言った欠点があります。
そういった採用例を言うならThinkPadは８０年代にからNASAに採用されていて、
スペースシャトルの標準装備品となっています。
ThinkPadの特徴である赤いトラックポイントは無重力空間ではマウスが使えないため、
確実な操作を行うために採用された装備です。
それが今でもThinkPadのアイディンティティで採用され続けているのです。
部品交換に関してですが、ThinkPadは唯一と言っていいくらいメーカーが
ユーザーサイドでメンテナンスを行えるように、保守マニュアルを公開していますし、
ほとんどすべての保守パーツをメーカーのパーツセンターから購入できます。
つまり、やる気とスキルさえあれば、自分のPCのメンテナンス、
故障時の修理を自分で行うことができます。
また、標準のOSから他のOSに入れ替える際にも、メーカーが動作保証している
すべてのOSに対応したドライバを公開してますので、OSのバーションが古くなって
新しいOSに入れ替えたい時などにドライバ探しで苦労することもありません。
と、まぁ頑丈と言うか信頼性に関していえばThinkPadの右に出るものはないと思います。
確かにLet’sNoteもある意味頑丈で、信頼性の高いPCですが、あのシリーズは分解組み立てが
とても難しい構造になっているモデルが多いです。
また、HDDがまだIDEだったころは動作電圧が3.3V仕様と言った特殊な仕様だったこともありました。
こういったことから、本当の意味でユーザーサイドに立った信頼性と言う面では
？がつくことがあると思います。
それにLet’sNoteはメーカーがユーザーに保守パーツの販売を行っていないので、
新品で保守パーツの入手はできません。
もし、CPUファンの異音などトラブルがあった時は、メーカーに修理依頼をするか、
中古パーツを使っての修理以外に方法はありません。
ここら辺のメーカーの考え方は他の国産メーカー（NECや富士通、SONY)などと大差はありません。
