今使っているノートパソコン（Windows10 Lenovo 昔のIBM ThinkPad edge c430）
がほんの少しの作業をさせただけで作業中の表示ビジーカーソルが回転し、
回りっぱなしでなかなか次の作業に進みません。
内容はごく簡単なことです、ブラウザのウインドウを閉じて
例えばExcelを立ち上げようとした時などですね。
Windows10なのでさすがにハードディスクにフラグメントがたくさんあってとか、
不可視ファイルがたくさん開いているとかはないと思いますが激遅になりましたので
(500 GBのハードディスクに50GBしか入ってない)SSDに交換を考えました。
ただこのSSDといっても1番怖いのはデータをコピーしている最中にエラーが出て
新旧いずれのディスクも読めなくなっちゃうっていうことがすごく怖いわけです。
ですのでデータの引っ越しでSSＤに換えるのをすごくためらっていました。
しかしこのノートパソコンを持ってで出かける用事が出ましたので
どうしても読み書きが遅いと言うのは作業(と言うほどではありませんけど)
支障がありますので思い切って取り替えることにしました。
ただし、OSを使ってパソコンから一旦データを書き出し、
それをまたパソコンに戻すと言うのはOSを経由させるだけあって
ちょっと怖いなと言う気がありましたので、ウェブで紹介してあった
玄人志向/U3を使って機械的にデータをコピーすると言う方法がいいと思って
こちらを採用しました。
まぁ、何につけても初めてする作業は心配があるものですが、
「案ずるより産むが易し」とは言ったもので、いざデータコピーして
ディスクを交換してみるとエラーなしで2時間弱で使えるようになったのには
びっくりしました。
さすがにSSDは早いですね。
立ち上がりからブラウザの遷移、ファイルの開閉、全てにおいて激速です。
体感で10倍くらい速くなった気がします。
思い切って変えてよかったと思います。
edgeの440もあるのでこちらも換えたいですね。
